Healthy Outlook School

Hebron Elementary School is a Healthy Outlook School

“Health and success in school are interrelated. Schools cannot achieve their primary mission of education if students and staff are not healthy and fit physically, mentally and socially.” (Source: Fit, Healthy, and Ready to Learn…2000)
The Welborn Baptist Foundation has been providing funds for Hebron, and many other Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation schools, to initiate, expand, and improve coordinated school health initiatives which improve health and student achievement. Each Healthy Outlook School has a Wellness Coordinator to help coordinate nutrition education, increase awareness of making good choices, promote lifelong physical activity, and collect data for evaluation. The in-depth evaluation system will be used to monitor program outcomes and successes.
The eight components of Coordinated School Health are:
  • Health Education
  • Physical Education
  • Health Services
  • Nutrition Services
  • Counseling, Psychological, & Social Services
  • Healthy School Environment
  • Health Promotion for Staff
  • Family/Community Involvement
